HYHA relies heavily on volunteers in order to run a successful program for our kids and to keep costs low. There have been some important changes made to our volunteer program for the 2025-2026 season that everyone needs to be aware of.
This year, we are transitioning from volunteer hours to points. The purpose of this change is to allow us to place more "weight" to volunteer jobs that have been more difficult for us to get volunteers for in the past. Examples include games and tournaments. All jobs are important, but those, in particular, have been a challenge. We rely on our concession stands to bring in extra income and need it to be open for all games. Another change made, is no one will be able to "buy out" completely. Again, this is to increase the number of volunteers we have. Finally, one family will not be able to obtain all of their points within one category. Families must have time in at least two different categories to be counted.
All volunteer opportunities will be posted on the Dibs page just as it was before. You will be able to click on the different volunteer opportunities to view the points that will be allotted. Your team manager will be responsible for building these dibs throughout the season, so if you have any questions, please direct those questions to him or her. More information will be discussed at the team meetings at the start of the season.
If you are interested in volunteering for a coaching position, team manager, or locker room monitor, please click the link to complete the Volunteer Registration Form.
